*Edem K. Garro, also known as ‘Edem Soul Music' is an American Composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and Motivational speaker from Omaha, Ne. Edem's work primarily focuses on cultural preservation and identity. In much of Edem’s work the Ga language, her native tongue is used. Although Edem was born as a first-generation American, Edem utilizes the culture that was taught to her in hopes the youth will remember where they came from. To know who they are, and where they are going. Through music, Theatrical performances featuring African drumming and dancing, Edem utilizes all her gifts to ensure, a better future for those that will come after her.

*As an artist my mission has always been to abstract myself, but to do so in a way that still feels tangible. Distilling life with symbolism and visual appeal. To me the dance floor is much the same as a lone viewer in a gallery. They came to be moved. Provoked. Pushed to transcendence. I’m drawn to music that does the same. I want my sets to bring people from the mundane to something extraordinary that we both can feel equal parts of. The funk is anything you care to express. And I want us all to bring a tonne of it.

Reed has taken home OEAA's Best Hip-Hip & Artist of The Year, Audience Award x2, and 3 Awards from University of Nebraska-Omaha for his involvement at Multicultural Affairs & AAO. Reed produces audio/visual arts using videography, photography, design, music, illustration, and so much more to communicate to the masses.
